Last Chance for Winter/Holiday Mini Catalog

 Hi all!

Today starts the Last Chance Sale!  This sale runs from December 1st until January 3rd, 2022 or while supplies last!

Click here to go to my store and see what's available and what is on sale!  If your order is under $150, please use hostess code:  WF7WYJV2.  Thanks!  and Happy Shopping!

Also, just a bit of an update:  there will not be any classes in December.  I am pretty busy getting ready for Christmas here at home and at church and going out West to see my son.  Yes, we usually only see my son once a year, but this year I thought I would like to celebrate Christmas with he and his family.  It will be a bit early, but I'm looking forward to it.

My son's family, loves, loves, loves Christmas!  So to that end, I have been busy crafting surprises for my 3 grandsons, who are 9, 7 and 4.  Here they are on Thanksgiving visiting their other grandparents, who happen to live on a golf course!

So I baked them cookies, bought them candy and assorted little toys for them to explore and play with.
Here are the 3 pizza boxes that I decorated - each contains a giant, frosted cookie!

Next, I used my November Paper Pumpkin to make really cute treat boxes - these contain fun candies and of course a candy cane!

These were so much fun and so easy to put together and I think they look great.  I know the boys will love them.

Here are the bags that I put together - they have fidgets, coloring books, crayons, light up necklaces, all kinds of things - all Christmas themed.

The green square tin on the right hand side, contains 4 different kinds of Christmas cookies.
Not pictures - 2 lb. box of Fannie May select chocolates.  They have a sale on 2 lb. boxes every year around Thanksgiving...my husband left church early so he could get a couple of boxes.

I know that sounds like a lot of cookies and candy, but this family of 5 will descend on this like a bunch of monkey's on a cupcake.

So besides classes in November and a craft sale that I donated cards to, this has been a very busy November - baking and cooking and wrapping.

Hope you have a wonderful Holiday Season!  (I'm not wishing you a Merry Christmas, because Christmas isn't here yet!)

Blessings,

Sheryl

Eden's Garden - Available Now

 Good Morning!

I wanted to share with you some cards that I have designed using the new Eden't Garden Collection - available now until January 3rd, 2022.  The Eden's Garden Bundle, will be in the new January - June Mini catalog coming out January 3rd, but the Designer Series Paper, the Cotton Paper and the Garden Gems will not.  Don't miss out on the gems and the Designer Series paper!  They are gorgeous!

Here is a link to the whole collection and it's pieces:  Click Here for Eden't Garden Collection

Here are 3 cards that I have made with this collection:

The wreath is stamped using 2 of the images from the set...I cased this idea from Julie Davison.

I created this card for my Stray Duckling shoe box swap.  This is an arrow card and it's so easy to make and beautiful to look at!

Eden's Garden even works for Christmas!  This is a Book Binder card and again, I made the wreath using two of the stamps from the set, following Julie Davison's instructions.

I hope you enjoyed today's cards.  Be sure to order this paper and the gems before January 3rd, or while supplies last.

November Blog Waddle from the Stray Ducklings - Happy Holidays!

 Hi All!

Welcome to our November Blog Waddle - the Holidays are upon us!

The inspiration for this blog hop is the Holidays!  I use Pinterest to give me inspiration when designing my cards.  Here is a card that I found to be so beautiful in it's understatement of images:

This card uses the peaceful season Designer series paper.  The catalog does not do it justice.  It's in blacks and grays and silver, which you think, not too christmassy.  But when put together with the coordinating stamp set, it is gorgeous and so unique looking.  I used Evening Evergreen as the base of my card.  The layering piece is Smokey Slate.  I stamped the cabin in Memento Tuxedo black and die cut the trees in Evening Evergreen.  The sentiment was stamped in Evening Evergreen and I punched it out with the Essential Tag Punch - it fit perfectly!

Here is another card I made using the Gingerbread and Peppermint paper - using an technique that has been around a while - the penny spinner.  This card delights both old and young.  It's so much fun to watch it spin!  And it's easy to make.  There is a die in Beautiful Trees die set that works perfectly to cut the slit in the card.  I actually used the retired Word Window Punch.   Sandwich a dimensional between two pennies and the card front.  Give it a good shake and voila!  We have a spinner card.  I originally got the idea from Dawn Olchefske.

Here is her YouTube video explaining on make the spinning mechanism on the card and the shaking technique (essential to make it spin!)

Here is my card.  I cut out a star cookie with Cinnamon Cider card stock and the frosting with the coordinating die, out of basic white..  I sponged the edges of the cookie to make them looked more "baked".

Both of these cards were from my October 2021 class.  You too can make beautiful cards like these with my classes.  Contact me if you would like to experience the world of card making...I'll warn you.  It's addicting!

Hope you enjoyed my cards today.  Waddle on over to Nancy Legate  and see what inspiring cards she has!

Here is a list of all my dear Ducklings who are participating in this months blog hop:

May you have a wonderful and blessed Holiday Season.

Blessings,

Sheryl

November Class is Now In Session!

 Hi all!

I'm really excited about this months cards - we are going to do a Stamp-A-Stack of Christmas cards!  I'm using a layout called 6 x 6 wonder - you take 6, 6x6 pieces of double sided designer paper and make 14 cards from these with 5 different layouts.  I'm taking 2 Christmas 6x6 papers, the Gingerbread and Peppermint DSP from the Winter Mini-Catalog, and also the Tidings of Christmas 6 x6 paper found in the annual catalog.  Here are the two types of cards you can make:

Gingerbread and Peppermint:  Colors are Old Olive, Basic White, Real Red and Cinnamon Cider.

Tidings of Christmas:  Colors are Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen, Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand and Basic White with some Gold Foil thrown in for impact.

In this class you will receive:
 - 14 card bases
 - 14 envelopes
 - 1/4 package of  Designer Series Paper (12 sheets of 6 x 6 paper)
 - 2 yards of red satin ribbon (Gingerbread class)
- 1/2 sheet of gold foil paper (Tidings of Christmas class)
- 1 packet or Red Rhinestones
 - 2 sheets of Stampin’Dimensionals

Cost is $35.

For either one, there are 5 different layouts.

Let me know ASAP if you are taking the class and which Class - Tidings or Gingerbread.  I need to order supplies.

Dates & Times - Since this is a busy season, I’m offering several dates and times.  You will need to bring your paper snips and adhesive to class.

Tuesday, November 16th - my home 10am - 2pm (limit 6)
Friday, November 19th - Morton Christian Church - 10am - 2pm
Saturday, November 27th - my home - 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm  (limit 6)
Tuesday, November 30th - my home 10am - 2pm (limit 6)

Don't let the number of cards to make intimidate you....the fun is in the stamping and deciding the elements to use and the paper.  Everyone's will look a little different.

Let me know if you want to take the class and when.

Hope to see you soon in class!
Blessings,

Sheryl

It's Spooky Season!

 Welcome to my haunted blog....ooooooo!!

I wanted to share with you today what I've been working on for my grand kiddos for Halloween.  These tombstone boxes can be found in the Holiday Stampin'Up mini catalog.   I CASE'd felllow demonstrator Tammy White with using the brick 3-d embossing folder and sponging to bring out the texture.  I also lined the inside of the box with red card stock and some ruffle ribbon - looks like the inside of a coffin!  Plus I put an little extra scare into it.

I also made some fabric baskets to put the treats in for my favorite spookables.  Here is what they look like:

Aren't they cute?  I filled them with trinkets like pencils, little coloring books, snap bracelets and glow sticks...plus some candy of course.  To top it off, I put in the pumpkin treat holders from the September 21 Paper Pumpkin...Just to remind the kids that we live in the Pumpkin Capital of the World!

I really enjoyed making the baskets and the tomb stone boxes!  Stampin'Up makes decorating and gifting for halloween so easy.

Below are the items that I used, just in case you want to make some of your own!

Have a great day and welcome all your little spookables!

October Blog Waddle - Thankful for You

Hi all!

Welcome to our October 2021 Blog Waddle with the Stampin' Stray Ducklings.

This months theme is Thanksgiving or Thankfulness.  I try to wake up every morning being thankful.  Here is my card.

This is the inside...

I used the new stamp set, Pretty Pumpkins and some of the beautiful Cork Specialty Paper.  If you haven't yet, you really need to check out that paper.  It's thin, easy to cut and it has the feel and texture of cork.  Beautiful! At the end of the post is a list of all the items that I used.

Feel inspired?  Wait until you see who is next for more beautiful cards...Nancy Legate

Here is a list of all the participating ducklings

The October Class is now in Session!

Hello All!

I can’t believe it’s the first of October already. We’ve got Labor Day and Pumpkin Festival behind us, and now staring down the barrel of Halloween then the quick slide into Thanksgiving and Christmas….and cold weather, snow and ice. I could use a slight reduction in the temperature and humidity, but freezing cold- ugh!

Another thing I can’t believe is that I designed and made 3 of the 4 cards yesterday for our October class. Of course I’m under a deadline. We are leaving for our annual fall trip up to Wisconsin tomorrow and I really wanted to get it done before we left. Once less thing to do when we get home.

I have also designed 3 projects for my pool class group who are having a Halloween Party at the end of October. I am the entertainment. We will be making (not stamping) 2 cards and 1 3-D project. I have had those designed for several weeks. 20 people will be coming, so while I’m on vaca in Wisconsin, I will be cutting 20 card kits for this group. No pics yet. I will share later.

Anyway, back to the October class. Here are the cards you will be making - the emphasis is on Christmas…

The Gingerbread card is a fun card - the cookie spins back and forth!
So here are the details regarding dates, times and places…

October Card Class - Dates and Times

- Friday, October 22nd - 10am - 2pm -  Home of Bette Nelson - limit of 6 people

- Tuesday, October 26th - 10am - 2pm - My Home - limit of 6 people

- Friday, October 29th - 10am - 2pm - Morton Christian Church - no limit (we have lots of room)

RSVP by Thursday, October 14th.  Cost is $20 for a total of 7 cards, envelopes and recipes for the cards.

Up and Coming in November

While I’m on vacation, I will be working on 2 Christmas card kits (potentially 2)

1.  Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories and More Card Pack. - Total cards to make will be around 20 cards.  However, this has become non-orderable as of this writing.  Stampin'Up is expecting a shipment on October 11th.  Let me make up the kit and the cards and we will have to see if this is an option.  More details later.

2.  Pick 6 Wonder - Tidings of Christmas - This will be fun!  Using a combination of Tidings of Christmas DSP and the Tidings and Trimmings bundle, we will be making 14 cards.  More details later.

So between designing 2 card kit classes and cutting for the Pool Halloween Party, I sure hope I have time to enjoy the beauty of Northern Wisconsin (don’t worry, I will).  In years past it has even snowed in early October, so I’m dressing warm.  Funny how right now I have the air-conditioner on here and up there the heat will be on.

Here’s what I hope we will be seeing:

Take care and let me know about what dates and times you would like to sign up for class.

Blessings,

Sheryl

The End of Birthday Season

 Hi All!

The last couple of months I have been sharing birthday cards that I have been making for my  immediate family.  Their birthdays go from the end of June until the middle of September.  Today I'm going to show you the last 2 birthday cards that I made for my two grandsons:  Rowan who turns 4 and Kale who turns 7.  I think I ended the season on a real high note.

First, here is Rowan's card.  I used the sheep stamp and matching die set from Sale-a-Bration (love it!) and i put it on a wobble, so he can make that sheep dance!  I created the pretty balloons using another Sale-a-Bration stamp set,  Textures and Frames.  The Happy Birthday comes from the Hey Birthday Chick, found in the annual catalog.

Here is Kale's card.  This one I CASE'd from Lynn Dunn.  It's a very easy shaker card - so easy to make and so much fun!  Here is the link to Lynn's video.

I used the Ice Cream Stamps and punch and the retired DSP that was in the last catalog (sorry, but it works so well with the stamp set).  Colors are Cajun Craze, and Bermuda Bay.

So that is the end of what I like to call Birthday Season.

Let me know if you have any questions or need more information.

Blessings,

Sheryl

September Thank You Cards - a Farewell to Sale-a-Bration 2021

 Hi All!

I love our notecards (20 notecards, scored and 20 envelopes - $7-wonderful bargain).  They are just the right size and don't require additional postage.  So this month, as a final farewell to Sale-A-Bration 2021, I designed this card:

This stamp set is the Delicate Dahlias (free with $100 order).  The image and the sentiment are from that stamp set.  Dahlias have a special place in my heart...my oldest son runs a flower farm in Colorado and his specialty flower is Dahlias.  He grows many different varieties and colors and he is an expert in their care and growth.  Here is just a sample of the beautiful bouquets that he sells at the local farmers market every Sunday.  The name of his business is Big Horn Blooms.  Here is a link to his FaceBook page: https://www.facebook.com/BighornBlooms

Here is the recipe for my little notecard:

Stamp Set:  Delicate Dahlias (Sale-a-Bration

Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green

Paper:  Notecards, Pattern Party (DSP - Hostess reward in the Annual Catalog)

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Let me know if you have any questions regarding this card or any Stampin'Up product.

Blessings,

Sheryl
