Last of the Swaps

Good Morning!

Today I will show you the last of the demonstrator swaps.  I saved the best for last!
This card is from our Mother Duck, Lori H.- great card; colorful and simple!

The second card is from Kim B - great use of the Cookie Cutter Christmas and the leaf framelits.  I love the thick Kraft Rope Trim that is new in the Holiday Catalog.

The last card is a fun double Z fold;

It looks like a regular card when closed - but when you open it - a fun surprise.  I love how she made her own designer series paper using the Timeless Textures stamp set in the Annual Catalog!

Now for some family stuff - in September we celebrated 2 birthdays - my grandson Kale, who turned 2 years old and officially became a toddler!  Here he is loving his birthday cake!

He soon abandoned the fork and went for the cake bare handed..... the only way to eat cake!

On September 19th, Chloe celebrated her 2nd birthday as well!  She's beyond toddlerhood, thank goodness.  She still gets into mischief and has lots of puppy energy and kisses!

That's it for today!

Have a blessed day!

Swap Cards Day 3

Good Morning Everyone!

Hope you had a restful night and are ready for some more swap shares.

The first on was created by fellow demonstrator Kelly I.  Simple yet so cute!

She used Pool Party card stock as the base;  Softly Falling embossing folder, Work of Art stamp set for the pool party swoosh and then she used the Cookie Cuter Christmas stamp set and coordinating punch.  She popped those cute snowballs up on dimensitonals and used Wink of Stella to give that blue swoosh some pizzaz!

The next card was made by Karen F.  and is absolutely gorgeous;  she used real red and gold:

This is the Star of Light stamp set and coordinating thinlits.  She also used the new red glitter embossing powder to give the card some extra depth and sparkle.  She embossed the star and sentiment in gold embossing powder and that pretty design on the left is cut from gold foil and the Flourish thinlits.  A  very special card for someone who is special!

The last card is so simple, yet so elegant, thanks to the great detailed thinlits called Detailed Santa Thinlits.  This also comes with a coordination stamp set called Greeting from Santa.  Buy as a bundle and save 10%!  Nancy L. is the one who made this card.  It's so cute and so easy!!!

That's it for today.  I hope you found some inspiration.  I know I did.  I'm sure you will see several of these cards in my annual Christmas Card Buffet class coming up soon.  More details later.

Have a wonderful day!

Swap Day 2

Good Morning, or Guten Tag (if it's speak German day);

Another Stray Duckling Day of Swaps!  Here is the first card designed by Greta W.

Here she is using the Joyful Nativity stamp again, but in a delightful new way.  The base card is Dapper Denium and she used Night of Navy and the new Star of Light stamp set, found in the Holiday Catalog.  She embossed the word "JOY" in gold and the Holy Family, Angels and Stars in Soft Sky (I think) and then used Wink of Stella to make them pop.  I love the way she cut around the word JOY and punched out the circle in the O.  A stunning card!

The next two cards use the Petals and Paisley in the new Stampin'Up! Holiday catalog (pg 47).
These are WOW cards as well:

The second card also uses the Paisley embossing folder and some of that yummy copper foil paper. Love the use of Rich Razzleberry with Night of Navy!
Such beautiful cards!  I hope today's selection has inspired you!

Today I'm catching up on some old projects and making some new ones and working on the Peoria Stamp Fair, which is October 1st.  Hope to see you there.

Swaping Cards

Good  Morning!

Sorry I missed posting the last coupled of days, but hey!  It's Pumpkin Festival time in Morton.  Time to paint our bodies orange, dye our hair green and dance around a bonfire!  Not really - it's food tent, vendor tent, carnival time!  And time to get your fill of everything pumpkin - pumpkin chili, pumpkin butter, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin donuts, pumpkin coffee and even pumpkin pie blizzards.

As I told you a couple of days ago, we Central Illinois Stampin'Up Demonstrators had a meeting and we shared cards.  We are known as the Stray Ducklings...mainly because most of us have lost our uplines and we needed to band together to share business tips and information.  Plus we just have fun talking stamping!

Our challenge was to make something either fall/halloween or Christmas out of the Holiday Catty or the annual catalog:  Here is the first card:(speaking of Pumpkins!)

This card was created by my good friend Mary B.  Isn't it cute?  Very creative with the circle framelits.  She used Pumpkin Pie card stock and Basic Black.  Not quite sure what the DSP is though.  The fork is from a retired thinlits set - tea time.  I just think this is such a special card!

The next card is from my good buddy Debbie K:

Love the skinny layers!  So simple yet so elegant.  The DSP is from the annual catalog (pg 172) and is called "This Christmas".  The stamp set is also in the annual catalog, pg 35, and called Joyful Nativity.  The banner is actually a hostess set in the annual catalog called Time of Year and cut out with Bunches of Banners thinlits.   (pg. 201).

The last card for today is this one:

Such a pretty and yet elegant card! The background was embossed with the "Holly" embossing folder (pg 195 AC)/  The paper is once again the DSP "This Christmas" in the annual catalog.  The sentiment is from the beautiful "Peace this Christmas" stamp set, pg 27 of the AC.  the pretty flower and leaf was cut out using the Flourish Thinlits (Pg 194 AC).

That's it for today.  I'm very fortunate to belong to a wonderful group of very talented ladies!  Tomorrow;  3 more cards.

Don't forget to check out this week's specials!  Just a note:  the card kit O Happy Day, is on special, but only in French.  Check out the list here:  Weekly Special - Sept 15th - Sept 21st

Until then, keep stamping!

My Moose is gone! (I mean muse)

Hi everyone.

In the past few days I have been trying to design cards for my September and October classes, design cards and 3 -D items for our Peoria Stamp Fair on October 1st (and if you haven't signed up yet, whatcha waiting for?) and a swap for our Stray Ducklings Demonstrator meeting this Saturday.  This is in addition to a huge and very upsetting event at our church (which I am still reeling from), and flooded basements, rats in the garage, spilled milk and a giant spider which is guarding the side door to the garage.  The rat appears to be gone.  Maybe the spider got him.  It's big enough.   I don't know, don't care.  All I know is that I have to go out the front door and walk around back to get into the garage, because I'm avoiding that spider.

Anyway, as you can see, my mind is a bit muddled right now.  Try and design a card in that state....can't be done.  So here is a picture of swap card #1 (I apologize in advance):

Yeah, What was she thinking?  Here's the second one....still not convinced this is the way to go:

Which one do you prefer?  I wanted something quick and easy but using the Holiday Catalog products.  The first card is a lot of work to put together.  The second one is much easier, but its just kind of too simple.  I CASED this idea from Angie Juda of mychicnscratch.  I love her designs, and I think this is really cute.  This card is not wowing me.   I think I'm just in a card funk right now.  My card Muse has left the building!  Maybe she turned into a moose.

Which one do you prefer?   You will probably see these cards in the near future - at a class or my annual Christmas Card buffet.  You just never know.  I'm that desperate.

Back to the drawing board - I've got to get these made tonight - I have to have at least 7 kits cut by Saturday for my class and the instructions written up and printed.   So I better stop whining and get busy.

Until tomorrow,
May all your cards turn out perfectly! Because mine sure aren't!

New Weekly Specials From Stampin'Up!

Good Morning!

I can't wait to show you the weekly specials this week!  They are really great!  Check out the list here:

 Specials from Sept 8th - Sept 14th

What is of special interest to me is the gold binder clips and the acetate foil, both of which I ordered last week at full price, of course!  Dang!  Well, you just can't have enough gold clips or Designer Series Paper, can you?

Angie Juda at mychicnscratch.com has a really cute project using these binder clips and the cookie cutter reindeer.  Watch the video with the Christmas reindeer treat box.  Check it out here:  http://mychicnscratch.com/2016/08/christmas-treats-box.html.

And the acetate foil sheets are beautiful.  Here a  card using one of those sheets:

A really quick and easy way of taking a card to a WOW!

Tomorrow you will hear all about my struggles to come up with a swap card.  The Stampin'Up Muses are struggling with me.  More about this later!

Have a fabulous day!
