Oh Baby, Part II

Good Morning!

Today I'm going to show you another baby card that I made to have at the ready when my 6th grand child is born - any day now.  Don't know if it's a boy or girl, so I'm ready for either or.

This card I cased from Brandy Cox.  It's so stinkin' cute!  And easy to make!

I used the Moon Baby stamp set - the boy card is Night of Navy and Soft Sky card stock, as well as whisper white.  The little girl is Chocolate chip and Pink Pirouette card stock.  I stamped the moon baby on a separate piece of whisper white, colored it using the Stampin'Up water color pencils and my blender pen, then I hand cut it out.  I used the metallic enamel shapes to give it extra zing.

All the supplies are listed below.  Hope you enjoyed today's baby card.  Tomorrow I will show you card #3!

Until later,

have a blessed day!

Another Blog Waddle - Oh Baby!

Welcome to another Blog Waddle by the Stray Ducklings!  Quack! Quack!

I am about to become a grandmother for the 6th time (unbelievable!) in the very near future - last of August, first part of September.  (read next week).  This time around, my son Matt and his wife Alex decided that they did not want to know the baby's sex until it was born.  After two boys, Alex would really, really, like to have a little girl.  So, that kind of put me in a quandary - what kind of card to make.  So, being an overachiever, I made three different designs, one in blue and one in pink.

Today I will show you the first set of cards.  I will reveal the others over the next few days.  Here is Baby Card #1:  I cased this from Dawn Griffith - such a cute card!

Look at that little guy peeking out from the card!  And it even has a cute little surprise - check out the inside front:

Isn't that adorable?  The card was a bit involved to make, but what fun!  and the results were well worth it.  I think that little bear is so cute!  Reminds me of Winnie the Pooh!

  • Circle Framelits were used to cut out the front of the card.
  • I used the bundle  "A Little Wild" - stamps and coordinating thinlits, from the annual catalog.
  • The sentiment on the tag is from A Little Wild, but I cut it out with the tag thinlit from the Wood Crate Framelits.
  • I used some thick White Baker's Twine and the 3/8" woven ribbon to finish it off.
  • The little bear was stamped on Shimmery White paper and then watercolored with an Aqua Painter and some crumb cake.
  • The flowers, grass and bees were colored with Stampin' Write markers, subtle collection.

Tomorrow I will show you the 2nd design that I made - both girl and boy!  So stay tuned!

You came from Nancy Legate.  Now, if you can, waddle on over to  Debbie Kramer -  - the next blog in our waddle.

Quilted Christmas

Hi Stampers!

As many of you know, I love to make quilts.  I just love the soothing sound of the sewing machine and the challenge of cutting fabric up and putting it back together in a unique fashion.  I also love to stamp and make cards, so what better, than a bundle that makes beautiful quilt cards!  This set is going to be a real favorite with me, and I hope you too.  Here is a short video giving you an overview of this versatile and dynamic bundle:

I ordered this in my pre-order, so expect to see this show up in many of my future classes!

Have a wonderful day!

August 2017 Card Class is now in Session!

Hello Stampers!

Today I'm going to share with you the cards that we will be making in August.  After some creative struggles and just a little swearing, this is what I came up with!

It was hard to decide what to do.  So I went with some of my favorite stamp sets, accessories and techniques.  I love the Coffee Cafe bundle - the stamp set, the framelits and the designer series paper.
Same with the Lemon Zest Bundle.  Love the coordinating punch! Plus I used my favorite Wink of Stella!

I want to point out two other cards.  The Peace on Earth card is an early release from the 2017 Holiday Catalog and is available for you to purchase!  The stamp set is called Carols of Christmas and it comes with a wonderful framelit set!  You can click on the image to get all the details about this in my store.

The other card I wanted to show you and explain is the Maple Leaf card with the marbled front.  Everytime I see this, I want to start singing, "O, Canada".  Looks complicated, but it's amazingly simple.  I used the glossy paper and the marble background.  I'll show you a nifty technique on how to make this amazing background.  Here is a closeup of the card:

The dates and times of my August class is the following:
    Friday, August 11th - 10am-2pm
    Sunday, August 13th - 1:30 - 4:30pm
    Tuesday, August 15th - 10am - 2pm

Please contact me to reserve your spot.  As always, if you would like to have a class in your home with your friends, I will come and do that!  Also, if you can't make the class, I will make you the set of cards.  Class fee is $15 and includes 2 cards of 3 different designs, plus a bonus card.  Classes are a fun and easy way to experiment with Stampin'Up product and to meet new and old friends in a relaxing and fun atmosphere.

Until later,
Keep stamping!
