July Stray Duckling Waddle (Blog Hop)

Hi All!

This month the Stray Ducklings waddle theme is a continuation of the new items in the catalog.
Here is what I designed using the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp set and our wonderful Note cards!

Have I ever told you how much I love our notecards?  They are 5 x 3-1/2, come in a package of 20 cards and 20 envelopes for only $7.  And they can be mailed without additional postage or special handling!

I used the Magnolia Lane designer series paper as a layer and I also fussy cut out the flowers which are also part of the DSP.  The sentiment was stamped in Black Memento and  cut out with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.   The Basic Black Card stock was cut at 3-1/4 x 4-3/4 and the DSP layer was cut at 3 x 4-1/2. And of course, I had to put a little bling on it to finish it off.

Here is the inside of the card.  Again, I used the magnolia bud in the stamp set, and using my Stampin'Blends, colored the leaves with light Mossy Meadow and a touch of Petal Pink on the bud itself.  If you color lightly, and because of the thickness of the card stock, it won't bleed through to the other side.

I hope you enjoyed my little card.  The next stop on the blog waddle is:

Some Background Information:

Why I’m working so hard right now, is that my craft room/stamping studio is a messy nightmare.  I can’t take it anymore.  So I’ve been working on getting it organized and deciding on what I need to get rid of, etc.   This past week, I’ve been working on all the cards that I have made - I think there is close to a thousand of them.  Sorting through them and getting them ready to sell.  My next big project is to go through all my paper - designer series paper and card stock.  Then on to the stamp sets - matching the framelits/thinlits to the stamp set - sorting retired and current, sorting what I want to keep and what I need to sell.  The last step is to get cabinets, tables/desks and shelves into the room so I can organize and have handy all my stuff.  This may be a year long project!

Anyway, the good news for you, is that I am hoping to have an open house and Stampin’Up retired sale in August (tentatively),  I plan on having a demonstration/samples of the new Holiday Catalog which will be coming out the first of September.  Now I must warn you….anytime I sell my stuff I have seller’s remorse.  I just did a project for my church using many retired items, which justified in my mind, that I should hold on to everything and never sell it.  However, the reality is, I just can’t handle all the stuff.  So I plan on going through all my stuff on a day that I’m really motivated.  But please understand and forgive, if you try to buy something from me and I take it back and hide it from you.

Other items that I’m kicking around and I will get back to you later about:
  • Kit classes - some really beautiful kits in the annual catalog and a great way to build up your card inventory
  • Beginner Stamping classes - refresher class/ simple stamping for those who are new and those who want something simple but beautiful
  • Coffee and Cards - Stamparatus 101 and 201; techniques
  • Shoe box swap (we haven’t done one of those in a long time and it was so much fun!)

Ok.  Now on to the Stampin’Up News!
