December Class is Now In Session!

Good Morning!

I'm going to share with you a sneak peek at my December class which will be an 8 card buffet.  This means 8 different designs - you pick and choose which ones you want to make, or make one of each!  The choice is up to you.  Here are the cards:

I  had a lot of fun researching and designing these cards.  In fact, I had so many ideas, I had to limit myself.  I'll show you the ones that didn't make the grade tomorrow.  And it's not because they aren't beautiful, they were rejected because they were either too fussy to stamp or to make or because I had already used that stamp pad!

Dates and Times for the December card buffet:

Sunday, December 10th - 1:30-4:30 (or until your done) - my home
Tuesday, December 12th - 10am - 2pm - my home -I'm providing soup!
Friday, December 15th - 10am - 2pm - Morton Christian Church - potluck!

Let me know by Tuesday, December 5th if you will be attending any of my classes.  I've got to start cutting kits, and writing down instructions, don't ya know.

January classes - still up in the air.  I just ordered some items that I thought would make a great class.  As a demonstrator, I can order a month a head of time.  One of the many advantages of being a Stampin'Up Demonstrator!  Check back in a few weeks to see what I've come up with!

Speaking of which:

Coming in January- January 3rd to be exact;   (drum roll please!)

Some of the delightful Suites from Stampin'Up - Occasions Catalog 2018!

I'll be handing out those catalogs early in January.

Until later, my friends.

Celebrating Fall - October Card Class

Hi Stampers!

Sorry for such a long stretch between blogs.  I also did not get the October class on the blog in time.  Well, I have an excuse.  I have had some health issues with my back and hip.  I'm much better now, although my hip seems to be worse.  Anyway, it was one of those things where I didn't realize how bad it was until I got better!  I'm still recovering, but I'm feeling much more like my old self.

Here is the October class cards.  It is a celebration of Fall:  Take a look!

Isn't that little hedge hog cute?

And here is the bonus card, inspired by Mary Fish!

We also took a trip up to Northern Wisconsin where we go in the summer.  It's so different in the fall and so beautiful.  My husband and I enjoyed beautiful weather and beautiful fall color.

That is a picture from our boat dock, which thankfully, they hadn't pulled in for the winter yet.  And that little white speck in the sky is the moon!  We enjoyed tranquil walks, went up to Lake Superior and did a little rock hunting and enjoyed the Cranberry Festival in Eagle River!  We are definitely going to make this a annual trek!

In just a couple of weeks, we will be venturing down to Florida for a big family vacation;  Our son from Colorado and his 3 children will meet up with us and my other son and his 3 children;  6 adults and 6 children all in one house.  should be fun!

I'll be posting the November class here in the next week or so.  I hope.  Anyway, have a wonderful day and keep stamping!

Hello Christmas Blog Waddle

Today we are sharing our Christmas card creations.  Here is my card, which was cased from Mary Fish.  It's surprisingly easy to make:

Cut out a total of 16 leaves, using the leaf punch found in the Holiday Catalog on page xx.

Punch out 4 silver foil leave, 4 copper foil leave, 4 gold foil leaves and 4 gold glitter leaves.  I used the 2nd to largest stitched circle framelit to draw in pencil a circle where the wreath would be.  I then used my bone folder and gave each leaf a slight curl.  Then, I put a dimensional on the back of the middle leave and started placing them around the circle.  I was consistent in the color arrangement of the leaves;  silver, gold foil, gold glimmer and then copper.  I embossed the greeting with silver embossing powder.  the layers are thick whisper white, silver foil and regular whisper white paper.  I finished it off with some beautiful 3/8" metallic edge ribbon - silver.

Here is the next website to waddle to:  Kim B.

The Card That Did Not Make the Cut

Hi All!

Today I'm going to share with you a very pretty card that I was going to include in my September class, but didn't.  And it was for a practical reason, which I will explain, but first, here is the card, both the front and the inside:

The inspiration for this card came from the Summer Stamp Camp that I attended in Champaign earlier in August. I just love the Painted Harvest Stamp set and the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper!    And that's where I ran into a problem.  I didn't have enough DSP for everyone to get the Sunflower paper on the front.  I tried it with some of the other beautiful papers in the pack, but they didn't quite do the trick.  So we may do this one as a single in October.  Just too pretty not to make this card and share it!

Right now, Chloe is having an out of body experience because my husband Gary is outside mowing the lawn.  Chloe loves to go out while he's mowing because he will toss the ball for her.  The problem is, is that we have a nest of baby rabbits by our porch, which Chloe will not leave alone!  On baby she accidentally killed.  She pulled another one of the nest (twice), but didn't hurt it.  I picked it up to keep her away from it.  Sweet little baby.  I held the baby rabbit while I went to the door to make Chloe go inside.  She was bounding around with glee, thinking I was bringing the rabbit inside for her to play with.  She went running into the house and I shut the door!   The little rabbit was fine, just a bit shocked to be in the maw of a dog.  He was wiggling around in my hand right before I put him back in his nest.  A couple of days ago, it appeared that the mother rabbit had moved her family.  We no longer saw the babies in the nest.  Unfortunately, when I let Chloe out last night right before her bed time, she jumped in the hostas and I heard a big squeek.  She didn't grab whatever it was, but I think she stepped on it.  We checked this morning for bodies, but didn't find anything.  So for right now, Chloe has been banished from the backyard unless she's under adult supervision.  Here's a picture of "Killer", bane of the rabbits.

She loves to carry live things in her mouth like birds, rabbits.  And they squeak!  I really wish the rabbits would find someone else's yard to breed!

Hope you had a wonderful Labor Day!

September Classes are in Session!

Hi Everyone!

I'm so excited to show you what we will be making in the September class - it's using the wonderful Painted Harvest stamp set and the coordinating Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper both in the Holiday catalog (pg.49).  I LOVE this set.    I must admit that I really struggled trying to make these cards - I had so many ideas.  Some worked and some just didn't!  Things finally came together and I got a clear vision of what I wanted to do.  I wanted to feature the Painted Harvest stamp set and to use lots of new product from the 2017 Holiday catalog.  It's got so many neat things...especially clear acetate card boxes.  So here is what I came up with:

We will be making 2 cards each of three designs.  The bonus is the acetate box which we will decorate.  You can then put up to 5 cards and envelopes in this box and you have an instant any occasion gift!  I love giving sets of cards as gifts - everyone needs cards!  And I thought these turned out very well - just love it!

Here is a close up of the decorated box:

The Painted Harvest stamp set actually can come as a bundle - you can get both the stamp set and the Leaf punch and save 10%.

Classes will be held on the following dates:

Sunday, September 17th - 1:30 - 4:30 - my home
Tuesday, September 19th - 10am - 2pm - Morton Leaves & Beans
Friday, September 22nd - 10am - 2pm - Morton Christian Church

Cost of the class is $15 - envelopes for your cards is included.  Be sure to sign up for this fun and easy class!  Please let me know by September 7th if your coming.  This gives me a chance to order extra supplies is needed and to prep the card kits.

I will be having regular classes in the next 3 months, plus two "between" classes.  This means I will be having a class "between" my regularly scheduled classes, most likely in November and December. The first Between class will be a card kit class featuring the Watercolor Christmas Project Kit:

The cost for this class is just the price of the kit:  $20 - I will supply the ink and the stamp set (Watercolor Christmas pg. 34)  and the expertise knowledge!

The second "Between" class will be an 8 card Christmas buffet and potluck.  I will design and have kits made for 8 simple yet elegant Christmas cards.  You can pick and choose which ones to make and how many.  I only require that you make a minimum of 6 cards.  Cost is $2.50 per card.

I haven't ironed out the details yet as to where and when these "Between" classes will happen, but I will keep you posted.

I hope you have enjoyed today's post.  Be sure to sign up for the September class!  It will be fun!

Happy Stamping!

Oh Baby - Card #3

Good Morning!

Today I will show you the last card that I made - one for a boy, one for a girl.  Again, I cased a card designed by Brandy Cox.  She really knows how to design cards!  This one is adorable too and used the paper piecing technique:

Again, for the girl card, I used Pink Pirouette.  The boy card I used Marina Mist.  The little teddy bear was stamped on whisper white card stock and then colored with the water color pencils and sniped out.  I also used So Saffron paper and ink.

Can't wait to meet my new grand baby and send a card.  I'll have some serious decision making ahead as to which card to send.  Any suggestions?  Leave a comment!

Today's the Day! - the 2017 Stampin'Up! Holiday Catalog goes live!  I'll be posting my September class here on Monday and you can check out some cute card samples with the new product!

If you haven't received a catalog yet, but would like one, please contact me and I'll make sure I get one in your hands!

Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Oh Baby, Part II

Good Morning!

Today I'm going to show you another baby card that I made to have at the ready when my 6th grand child is born - any day now.  Don't know if it's a boy or girl, so I'm ready for either or.

This card I cased from Brandy Cox.  It's so stinkin' cute!  And easy to make!

I used the Moon Baby stamp set - the boy card is Night of Navy and Soft Sky card stock, as well as whisper white.  The little girl is Chocolate chip and Pink Pirouette card stock.  I stamped the moon baby on a separate piece of whisper white, colored it using the Stampin'Up water color pencils and my blender pen, then I hand cut it out.  I used the metallic enamel shapes to give it extra zing.

All the supplies are listed below.  Hope you enjoyed today's baby card.  Tomorrow I will show you card #3!

Until later,

have a blessed day!
