June 2021 Class is in Session! 6x6 One Sheet Wonder

 Hello All!

I'm back at it with my monthly classes.  Those who have been vaccinated are feeling safer to venture out and are eager to start making cards again.   Since it's been a little while since we have gotten together, I thought I would keep it simple.  So I thought why not do a 6x6 one sheet wonder which makes 6 cards?

I scoured pinterest and found a beautiful set of cards designed by Patricia Dominicci at www.    jumpingintostamping.com.  I copied it exactly because it was so beautiful.

Here are the cards:

I've written the instructions and wrote in detail on how to cut the DSP (Pansy Petals) and the layering card stock (Evening Evergreen).  These are easy and quick to assemble.

The bonus card I took the design from Lynn Dunn and made a book binder card using the lovely Hand Penned Suite:

What suprised me was how easy it was to do the 2 step stamping.  I think the card is really stunning.  Plus, it uses 4 x 4 and 1 x 4 designer series paper...very economical with no waste!  I finished the card using the white bakers twine and the beautiful genial gems.  Another very easy, but stunning card.  Anyone receiving this will be wowed.

In summary, you will be making 7 cards with envelopes - cost is still only $20.  Please contact me if you are interested in attending.  I look forward to seeing you!

Blessings,

Sheryl

Monday Mystery Card Revealed!

 Hi All!

I'm a member of the Stray Ducklings and during COVID, one of our duckies, Nancy, decided that we should try and do a "mystery" card every Monday night...to keep in touch with one another and to keep our skills sharpened.  This has been going on for over a year and we are still doing it...mainly because we have such fun talking and creating together.

Anyway, this last Monday, we had a sort of mystery card sketch.  Nancy gave us the dimensions of the card and we had to come up with the color combination and the stamps to use.  This is what I came up with:

I used the "What's Cooking" stamp set, new in the 2021-22 annual catalog.  I love it!  The color combination I saw on another demonstrator's blog, so I gave it a try.  I also used the Pattern Party pack of DSP which is a hostess reward.

Not satisfied, I went back to the ol' drafting table today and changed it slightly - changed the way the colors were combined (reversed them), changed the embossing folder and added some bling.  Here is what I came up with:

I think I like the 2nd version better?  What do you think?

Let me know by leaving a comment.

That's all for today...May you recognize the many blessings in your life today.

June 2021 Stray Duckling Blog Waddle - New Catalog

 Hi All!

This month we are featuring cards made with product from the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.

I selected the Hand Penned Stamp set along with the Penned Flowers Dies and the gorgeous Hand Penned Designer Series Paper.  Wow this is a beautiful set which would be appropriate for almost any occassion.

I CASE'd this card from Lynn Dunn of stamptasticdesigns.com.  She creates some fantastic cards.  This one really caught my eye and I'm featuring it as the bonus card in my June Class.

This is a fun fold called a Book Binding.  I cut the paper 4-1/4 x 11 and scored at 4-1/4 and 5-1/2.  I glued the are between the two score lines down and what was left was a 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 area.  I cut the DSP at 4 x 4 for the large part of the front and then for the "binding" part, I cut a 1 x 4" piece of DSP.  Since this is 12 x 12, the measurements work out without any waste!  My kind of card!

I stamped the outline of the flowers in Memento Tuxedo black and stamped the flowers with Daffodile Delight and Highland Heather.  The leaves are Garden Green.  I finished off the card with some white twine and the Geniel Gems.  This card can be made in either landscape or portrait.

Here is the link to Lynn's post about this card.  She also has a video that shows how she made it.  She shows how to make this card not only with 4-1/4 x 11, but also both landscape and portrait using 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 card stock.

Thanks for stopping by.  The next blog you will want to visit is  Nancy Legate
