Stray Duckling Blog Waddle - October

Welcome to the October Blog Waddle of the Stray Ducklings!

This month the theme is Fall/Holiday.  I like Halloween - I think it's a fun time of year - I don't go in for the gore or horror, just the fun of dressing up and seeing all the cute little ones come to the door.

This is my Halloween Card - fun and not scary!  I used the swirls and curls embossing folder and then I lightly rubbed on some Champaign mist glimmer paint with a sponge.  I used the hats found on the Toil & Trouble DSP and cut them out with the Cauldron Framelits Dies.  The greeting comes from Cauldron Bubble stamp set -  the cool ribbon is the 3/8" Glittered Organdy ribbon.  The bat is punched out of the black foil sheet paper, using the spooky bat punch.

Here is the card

Cute and colorful!  All of the supplies that I used is listed below.

I hope you enjoyed this post.  You are headed to the next blog hosted by Lori Helvick.

Here is a complete waddle list - be sure to comment!

October Class is now in session!

Good morning everyone!

I'm rather excited about this class - fall is one of my favorite times of year, right next to spring.  I love the crisp air and the beautiful fall colors.  I thought we would celebrate this time of year with some fall(ish) cards - I think these turned out rather nice:

Easy to do, especially with the stamparatus. You will be making 2 each for a total of 6 cards.

Here is the bonus card:

Isn't it cute?  It's called a "Magic Card"  I got the idea from Brenda Quintana.  She made her's as a Halloween card.  I took her card and made it into a Christmas card which will delight young and old alike!  You will make only one of these.

Cost of the class is $20 - you will make 7 cards with envelopes, plus receive the recipe's for all the cards.

Dates and Times

Tuesday, October 16th - 10am - 2pm
Friday, October 19th - 10am - 2pm

Shoe Box Swaps - Holiday

Good Morning!

Last Thursday my group of super talented ladies met for a shoe box swap.  This was the 2nd one that we have had and we had a total of 10 people participate this time!  A shoe box swap, in case you didn't know, is where you design a card and supply all the cut paper, ink and accessories in a box.  Then you exchange it with other participants and they make your card and you make their card.  It can be challenging!  Everyone in my group really did a phenomenal job!

Our theme for this swap was anything holiday.  Here are the cards we made:

Bonnie P

This is called an easel card - Great job Bonnie!

Rita T. - Beautiful card!
Pam S. - Pretty kraft paper and some red paint!
Bonnie P again - She's an overachiever and we thank you for it!
Avis J - sweet card with a z fold!
Bette N. - Beautiful paper made this card extra special
Carol C - gorgeous fall card! Love the raffeta bow!
Judy M - Gate fold card - easy but packs some wow!
Amy, Bonnie's daughter designed this card - the apple doesn't fall far from the tree
Marla H. - She challenged us with this unusual beauty

This is my card  - the only Halloween one!
That's all for now.  If you're interested in joining in our next shoe box swap, please let me know!

Blessings,

Sheryl
