April Classes - A Sneak Peek-ReCap of March

Good Morning my fellow stampers!

Quick post today.  I so involved in making my sympathy stamp-a-stack, that I just couldn't stop making cards.  I was on a roll!  This card is from Connie Stewart, Stampin'Up Demonstrator and it is so cute and easy to make, that this is card one for the April card class.

My themes for April is going to be  SPRING!  Oh how I've missed you!  So we will be exploring the many beautiful flower stamps that Stampin'Up has.  This isn't one of them, but it will be a card that is included in the bundle.  Here is is:

Isn't this gorgeous?  I might change the sentiment to something else.  I love the colors and the texture.  And the butterfly of course.  Gotta have butterflies.

Recap of March

Wow!  March was a busy, busy month for me.  First we had the Calendar of Cards, which you saw yesterday

Then I had two classes - Birthday Bash

Then I had the Sympathy Stamp-A-Stack:

I made a quilt:

And my dear Aunt who lives in Missouri, was crowned best dressed at their annual St. Patrick's day party.  Can you believe that she is 87 years old?

We have no idea who the man is with her.  She doesn't know either - they were randomly selected, I guess.  The boa that she is wearing lights up as well.  Quite the fashion statement.  She will be the talk of the neighborhood!

Well, that wraps up my March.  Looking forward to April and Easter and all the adventures that offers.  Until later,

Sheryl

The card for May was created by Chris Thomas - Doesn't this just speak spring?  A very elegant card!

The next card is June and it's created by Terese Burdette - what more appropriate card for June than a wedding card?  This card is an extra-special one for the new bride and groom....

Calendar of Cards - A March Event

Good Morning Stampers!

Earlier this month,  my fellow demonstrators and I put on an event for our customers called Calendar of Cards.  Here everyone had the opportunity to make 12 cards - one for each month of the year and themed accordingly.  We all had a wonderful time stamping together and meeting new and old friends.  Here are some pictures from the event.

All the ladies hard at work making their cards
Everyone got this cute bag to make to put their finished cards in:

We had food, drinks and door prizes!  Everyone had an exceptionally good time!

Stamp-A-Stack Sympathy Cards -

Good Morning!

Today I'm going to share with you the cards that we will be making in my March Madness Stamp-A-Stack Sympathy card class, being held on Tuesday, March 28th and Friday, March 31st.  Here are the cards:

Simple, yet elegant and heartfelt.  I have 6 different designs:  the only thing that I require is that you make a minimum of 6 - it could be 2 of 3 or one of each of the 6 or 6 of one design.  It's up to you!  Cost for the 6 cards is $15...any additional cards is $2.50.  Contact me today if you wish to sign up.  Deadline is Saturday, March 25th!

On another note, I've taken up quilting again.  I'm taking classes at our local quilt store, The Quilting Corner.  I made quilts back about 20 years ago, but a growing family and a full time job made that go to the back burner.  Now that I'm retired, I'm getting back into it.  Learning a lot of new things.  Here's one very handy thing I learned about.  Here's a picture - guess what it is?

It's called a spider and you use this to end a line of stiching - rather than pulling it away from the machine and snipping the threads, you just keep sewing right on to this piece of fabric.  To start you sewing, you just sew right off of the spider and on to your fabric....saves a ton of thread and messes!  As you can see, my spider is well used.

And here is a sneak peek at my quilt top - this Wednesday is when I go and put on the border - I'm making it for my grandson Sage who lives in Colorado.  Here's a picture of my inspiration:

He loves construction equipment - in fact he used to call any earth moving equipment, "diggers".  When I saw this fabric, I knew it was for Sage.  The contrasting fabric is yellow and red.  The red kind of looks like fire and let me tell you, Sage is a ball of fire!  I'll show you the entire quilt when I'm done.

Here is a sneak peek at the border, the backing and the binding:

Backing - looks like tire tracks!

This is the binding - Isn't it adorable!

This will be the border - love it!

My plan is to make a special quilt for each of my grandchildren.  I've got my work cut out for me because come September, I will have 6 grandchildren!  Yikes!

Until tomorrow, have a wonderful day!

April Paper Pumpkin - You Don't Want to Miss It!

Good morning stampers!

Sorry I've gone dark for a few days....I'm in the middle of my one week of classes.  I'm also busily designing the sympathy cards that we will be making the last week of March - Part of my March Madness...Then, to top it off, I've decided to get back into quilting.  I have 5-1/2 grandchildren and what a better way to remember "Grandma" then to be wrapped up all warm and snug in a quilt made especially for you by Grandma!  My first quilt is for Sage, my grandson who lives in Colorado.  He loves construction equipment - calls the bulldozer's "diggers".  I saw this fabric and it just said "Sage" to me.  I will share pictures soon of my quilting journey.  I had my second class last Wednesday and I've got a lot of home work.  I'm hoping to work on it this weekend. - Have to cut and piece the whole top.  Yikes!  Next week we cut and sew on the border and I think we layer it too.

Any way, the purpose of this post is to inform you of our very special April Paper Pumpkin.  If you are not a subscriber, NOW is the time to sign up - before March 31st.  Not only is Paper Pumpkin on sale for a 3 month pre-paid subscription, but it will qualify you for a free Sale-A-Bration item (glimmer paper is calling you name....).  So here's the scoop:

Exciting news! The April Paper Pumpkin kit was inspired and designed by Stampin’ Up! CEO, Sara Douglass. Her style is, “bold, vibrant, and artistic—with a little bit of sass,” which is exactly how she described the kit. Discover creativity through the eyes of our CEO while having an experience that is uniquely YOU! Get ready to embrace your inner artist and skip to the fun with Sara.

As if a kit designed by Sara is not reason enough to sign up, there’s more! Every kit will include a FREE gift! We’re keeping it a surprise, but you won’t want to miss it.

What do you need to do? It’s simple—sign up at PaperPumpkin.com by April 10. And if you’re already a subscriber, now would be a great time to grab a few extra kits by increasing your monthly quantity—just sayin’.

March Madness - Extra Class this month!

Good Morning Stampers!

Yesterday I promised you some exciting news!.  I think the title of my blog gives it away.  I'm having an extra session of classes this month.  As much as we need birthday cards, unfortunately, we need another kind of card:  the Sympathy Card.  So this month I'm holding extra classes to give you the opportunity to build up your stash of sympathy cards.

This is just a sample of the kind of cards you will be making - very simple yet elegant

I plan on making 6 different card designs - you can make any number of these 6 as long as you make a minimum of 6 cards.  So it can be one of each, or 4 of one and 2 of another or 2 each of three different designs.  The choice is up to you.  Cost is $15 for 6 cards, any additional will be $2.50 per card.

I'm opening up my house for this - from 10 am until 5 pm both on Tuesday, March 28th and Friday, March 31st.    Come anytime and pick out your cards that you want to make - this is a come as you please/go when you're done type class.  Bring your own lunch if you get hungry.  I will provide coffee and water.

Tuesday:  March 28th - 10 am - 5 pm  and
Friday:  March 31st - 10 am - 5 pm

Please RSVP so I kind of know how many kits to cut.  If we run out, I will cut more.

Saturday is our Calendar of Cards event in Peoria.  I'll share some pictures and moments with you on a future post.  Notice I didn't say Monday.  Depends on how tired I am after the event!  I'm so excited about it!  It's going to rock!

Many Blessings,

Sheryl
