November 2020 Class is Now in Session

 Hi All!

I've got my November class all designed and ready to go.  Unfortunately because of the increase in the COVID-19 cases in Peoria and Tazewell county, I don't feel that it is safe to do in person classes for the time being.   So, I'm going back to video's.

I'm calling this Card Class in the Mail.  If you would like a pre-cut kit (it's just the cut paper - no stamping - no putting together), I'd be more than happy to do that.  You have to use some stamps that you have in your stash, or you can purchase the ones that I use.

Here are the cards:

Aren't they beautiful?  I've cased my favorite cards from the top Stampin'Up demonstrators.  And they are super simple to make as well.   I'll send out an email when the video's are ready.

Let me know if you are interested in purchasing a card kit and/or the stamps that go with them.

Blessings,

Sheryl

November 2020 Waddle Inspiration!

 Hi All!

Can't wait to show you what I've been up to in this months blog waddle!

I love kits!  The Stampin'Up kits are beautiful and there is so much you can do with them...you can make them as is, or you can let you creativity go wild and come up with some beautiful alternatives.

The first kit that I'm going to show you is the Tag Buffet Kit, found on page 5 of the August-December Winter Mini Catalog:

I loved the look of the tags, but there was no way, no how, I needed 30 tags.  So, I added ink and paper:  Real Red and Shaded Spruce paper and Real red Ink and Shaded Spruce ink.  I also through in a package of our red rhinestones basic jewels ($7 for 220 rhinestones - bargain!) and behold...I was able to make 29 cards, 6 tags and lots of leftovers!  Here are the cards that I made:

Here are the 6 tags -

I made 6 cards of 5 different designs.    This one has a pop up note where you can have a secret message or a gift card tucked away!

I used gold foil as an accent.  Here I used the sprig punch to decorate and add a little pizzaz;

I also used a couple of sheets of the "Tis the Season" 6 x6 designer series paper to accent and embellish one set of cards.

To add interest, I stamped images in the Tag Buffet stamp set on the background of the card....

After you make your tags and your 24 cards, you will have 5 tree tags left over.  Of course I had to do something with them, so I made easel cards and added "All the Trimmings" ribbon combo pack, which added just the right red and gold .....

I made this into a class for my customers.  It was a bit of a massive undertaking, considering I had to cut  174 cards (thank you PiP printing for cutting the bases for me).  This was fun to design and to make.  It's amazing what you can do with the card kits.

The next blog you will go to is: Lori Helvick

I hope you enjoyed today's blog.  Please leave a comment if you so wish.

October Stampin' Stray Ducklings Blog Waddle

 Hi All!

Here is your monthly inspiration from the talented and super wonderful Stray Ducklings!

This month we are highlighting the suites in the 2020 Holiday/Winter Stampin'Up Mini Catalog.  Since it's October, I have selected the Magic in This Night Suite.  Here is my card:

Here is what the Suite looks like:

I used scraps of the Magic In the Night DSP for my background.  After cutting it down a tad, I ran it through the  Stampin Cut and Emboss machine using the cobweb 3-D folder to give it some texture.  I used all the other elements as well. I did use the iridescent pearls, although they are difficult to see in the photo.   I absolutely love the Metallic Mesh Ribbon - my granddaughter thought it looked like a butterfly!  I thought the card looked pretty nifty.

The next blog you will want to visit is   Lori Helvick.

And here is a list of all the Strampin'Stray Ducklings participating in this months blog.

Hope you enjoyed today's card.

Blessings,

Sheryl

September Card Class - Card #4

 Hello all!

Today's card is the last in my series of 4 cards for September.  This one celebrates Halloween and uses a unique origami technique called Folded Frame.  I also used the adorable Give-a-Hoot stamp set.  The color combination is fun using Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze, Pretty Peacock and Basic Black.  Here is the card:

I got the idea for the folded frame from Lisa Curcio.  Here is the link to her video on how to make this.  It definetly gives your card some impact!

September Card Class - Card #2

 Hello!

Here is card #2 in my September class series....This one shows a creative use of Designer Series Paper and it uses one of my favorite stamp sets, Love of Leaves.  Here is the card:

I love the embossing element to the leaf.  I also used the acorn trinkets that are part of the Gilded Autumn Suite.  However, I will warn you, the acorn is very heavy and very round.  You would have to send this card through the mail with a padded envelope, or better yet, hand deliver.  At the end of my video I will show you some alternative ideas if you don't wish to use the acorn.

Here is the free downloadable recipe sheet:

Here is the video on how to create this card:

Thanks for stopping by today.  Next is card #3.  You won't want to miss this one!

Blessings,

Sheryl

September Card Class - Card #1

 Hey all!

Here is card #1 for my September 2020 card class.  The theme is Fall Celebration - So I have a 3 cards that can be used as Fall cards or Thanksgiving and one Halloween card.  I also used a lot of product from the Gilded Autumn Suite especially the the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper.

So here is the first card - very, very easy to do.

You can use any of the copper and gold designs in the paper pack.  What makes this card especially pretty is the Gold Card and Envelope cards, found on page 51.  These are vanilla cards with gold detailing and gold envelopes.  You get 10 cards for $10.  A photo fits perfectly within the frame or designer series paper!  Really elegant and really easy to make.

Here is the free recipe:

And here is the video.

Hope you enjoyed today's card.

Blessings,

Sheryl
