April 2021 Stray Ducklings Blog Waddle - Mother's Day

Welcome to the April Stray Ducklings Blog Waddle!

Happy Spring!  This month's theme is Mother's Day or Birthday!  So of course, I did both.  Here are my cards for today:

On the second card, I used the rainbow glimmer paper to create the butterfly - beautiful!  I also used Just Jade ribbon and ink.

This card can be used for a variety of occasions....not just Mother's Day.  It would be a beautiful anniversary, birthday or even a sympathy card.  I just love the flowering vine dies.  So sad that they are retiring!  They come in 3 shapes - rectangle, oval and round and they match up perfectly with our Stitched So Sweetly dies, Layering Ovals and Layering Circle dies.

Here is my free inspiration sheet if you wish to make this card:

I hope you enjoyed today's card.  The next blog to visit is:  Nancy Legate

May you have a wonderful day and remember;  keep on stampig!

Blessings,

Sheryl

Happy Easter!

 Hi all!

Well, we are now in spring and the Easter season.  I had a wonderful time with my son and his family...so much better than last year when it was just my husband and I.   I wanted to show you this years Easter table and also the place favors that I made.  And then we will do a retrospect.

First of all, here is what my Easter table looked like:  we had an abundance of butterflies, baskets and bunnies!

The little baskets I made from cardstock and the Playing With Patterns DSP in the Annual Stampin'Up Catalog.  Here they are close up:

I copied the idea from Angie Juda, better known as ChicnScratch.  Here is a link to that post - she has instructions and a great video:  https://chicnscratch.com/2021/04/springtime-easter-basket.html

Here are some of my table decorations from the past.  The poor butterflies look like they have seen better days - they were my table decorations from 2 years ago.  Don't eat the chocolate!

Cute, huh?  The Butterflies were designed by Brenda Quintana:  https://www.qbeesquest.com/2017/02/hersheys-kisses-butterfly-video-plus-printable.html

I don't remember where I got the idea for the box...probably Chicn'Scratch.  It's pretty old.  Thankfully, I threw out the candy a long time ago.

Hope you enjoyed me sharing my Easter celebration.

Until next time,

Keep on stamping!

Sheryl

Spring has Sprung - March 2021 Stampin' Stray Ducklings Waddle

 Hi all!

Welcome to another Stray Duckling Waddle!  This month we are showcasing Spring/Easter...Enough with the cold, the snow....Bring it on Spring!

Every spring I think of this delightfully silly poem:

Spring is sprung, the grass is riz.
I wonder where the birdies is.
They say the birdies on the wing, but that's absurd.
I always thought the wing was on the bird.

Anyway, this is my card that I designed this year...this will be my official 2021 Easter card.  It's a bit different...it's a 5 x 5 square card.  I also had to make the envelope.  I love the pink and gray together. The paper is Peony Garden Designer series paper.  I arranged it around the square, using 4 different patterns.  I adhered the DSP to a 5 x 5 piece of whisper white cardstock and then ran it through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine with the Subtle 3D embossing folder.  ...I also used the beautiful flowering vine dies and of course the cute little bunny from the Springtime Joy stamp set.  I colored her with Stampin' Blends.

On the inside I used my Stamparatus to make sure the sentiment was straight (a perpetual problem with me) and also to use the hinge stamp technique to perfectly place  the beautiful tulips on the bottom....

I used Fable Friends stamps set for the front sentiment... It's retired from 2 years ago. I chose this sentiment because it fit in the die.  I made the card before I realized that the Arrange a Wreath sentiment works just as well.  My bad!

Here is a pdf with the recipe :

Valentine #2 - Oh So Ombre meets Starburst

Hello All!

Today I'm going to show you how to make this beautiful card:  It's called a sunburst and one of my fellow Stray Ducklings, Laurie S. is the one who suggested this.  Here is the card:

Click Here for the free PDF which has all the measurements and supplies that I used.  This is a Valentines card, but this would work just as well for an anniversary or wedding, or shower card.

Here is another card.  There are two patterns in the Oh So Ombre packet - one with a design and one that is solid color.  Here is a card where I used the solid color - Bermuda Bay and some sparkly ribbon:

Rather stunning, don't you think?  You can only get the Oh So Ombre Paper free with a $50 order.  Here are the 5 simple items you can order to get your free packet of Oh So Ombre Paper.

The Happy Thoughts Stamp Set is a must have - beautiful font, hits just about every occasion and it has inside sentiments!

You better hurry though!  Sale-A-Bration ends on February 28th.  I've got the list of items listed below and you can order with one click.

Here is the video on how I made this card:

February 2021 Stray Duckling Blog Waddle - Love is in the Air!

 Hello all!

Welcome to your monthly inspiration from the Stray Ducklings!  This month we are all about romance and love - Hello Valentines Day!

I'm really excited to show you what I've been up to.  You may or may not know that I have been cleaning out my stamp room.  I'm getting some new furniture to organize everything.  Of course I have lots of old stuff and one of the things I ran across was a valentine card that I made at the start of my love of Stampin'Up.  Now when I became a demonstrator I didn't know ANYTHING!  So I watched lots of videos and took classes.  I made this card from one of the video's I watched.  I don't remember whose this is;  it was either Dawn Griffith or Angie Juda - those were the only 2 who really had video's back in the day, before YouTube took off.  So here is the original card:

It's called a Diamond Pop-Up Card....and I can't stop making them!  Here are the two Valentines that I made:

I'm going to make a video on how to make these little darling cards, so stay tuned! For now I have a free PDF for you to download.  It's a differently decorated card, but it shows you how to cut and score this card.  Here is the card with the instructions:  Click on the image to access the PDF.

Another Valentine that I made was inspired by my Stray Duckling group - Mystery Card Monday.  This is called an arrow card and I used the True Love Designer series paper and the Heart Punch Pack as well as the Ornate Floral 3-D embossing folder.  Here is that card:

Pretty cool, huh?

I hope you enjoyed my cards.
