High Tide 3-D Home Decor Project

Hi All!

Once a year the wives of our clergy have a retreat.  This year, our church family, St. Michael & All Angels Anglican Church, was hosting this retreat.  Becky asked me to do a stamping craft for the wives.  Her mother, Mark Kay, is my downline and designed this beautiful shadow box project:

Both Becky and Mary Kay went to Michaels and snagged a great deal on the shadow boxes:  buy 1, get 2 free.  They were about 9x9 in size, so a good size.

We used Colorful Seasons and High Tide stamp sets.  I thought it turned out beautiful!  Mary Kay turned to me since I have more "Stuff" than she has.  She designed this and then we got together last Monday to tweak.  Since Mary Kay had another obligation, I was the one who lead the craft project.  There were 5 women there and it all went smashingly well.  I had them use the stamparatus for the sentiments to be sure of straight and good stamping.  I also did not know how much experience they had with stamping.  Turns out, not much, so the stamparatus was a BIG help.

We had a great time and they went away with a beautiful project and had a relaxing and fun time making it.  A shout out to Mary Kay G. for a great design job!

Hope you enjoyed today's post.

Blessings,

Sheryl

Here we come a Waddling - New Catalog! New Cards!

Welcome to another Blog Waddle from the Stray Ducklings showcasing the 2019-2020 Stampin'Up catalog.  So many great products and beautiful Designer series paper.  Here is the card that I made:

I used items from the Perennial Essence suite, found on page 107 of the annual catalog.  I stamped the flower from the Floral Essence stamp set on the Perennial Essence 12 x 12 vellum paper, the Petal Pink, and punched it our with the Perennial Flower Punch.  I used Black Berry Bliss as my card base, and the beautiful Perennial Essence Designer Series paper.  I off set this with a bit of gold foil paper.  The leaves are in Mossy Meadow and I used the leaf punch.  To finish the flower, I used the Perennial Essence Floral Centers.    Old Olive was the coordinating card stock and I used a 1-1/2" circle punch.

My idea came from a card sketch by Julie Davison, one of my favorite Stampin'Up demonstrators in Champaign, IL.  Here is her sketch that I used to design my card.  I changed it up just a bit:

If you are ever stumped for making a card, check out card layouts in Pinterest, or just google it.  It really opens up a whole world of possibilities!

Hope you enjoyed my card!

May 2019 Blog Waddle - A Fond Farewell

Hi All!

Time for another fun blog waddle brought to you by the Stray Ducklings!  It's hard to believe, but Stampin'Up is retiring Lovely as a Tree.  This has been in the catalog even before I became a demonstrator, 12 years ago!  And it is lovely!  I will dearly miss it!  Really sad face!

Here are two cards that I've made in past classes, using this very versatile set.

This was a sympathy card:

This card we made using a technique developed by Kim Jolley, Stampin'Up demonstrator and it's called baby wipe water color.  You use a waded up baby wipe and pounce it on your ink pad, then on the stampin'Up shimmer paper.

I used Kim's instructions, yet mine turned out way different than hers.  Mine looks like a city scape!
Here are my class notes on how to make this little beauty.

I hope you enjoyed this trip down soon to be memory lane.  Remember, you can still order this stamp set from Stampin'Up.  Just click on the link below if you want to order the stamp set.
