Valentines for the Grans

 Hi all!

Sorry about being so late about posting the valentines I made for my grand children.  I made 3 designs, 2 each since I have 6 grandchildren.  Here they are:

The first one was inspired by Linda Heller where she designed a waterfall card with circles.  I used the Love Cats Stamp set.  My oldest grandson and the 10 year old grandson have a love of cats, so they got this card.

My 10 year old granddaughter and my 8 year old grand son got this cute little valentine gnome.  This card was inspired by Angie Juda.  My only edit was that I put the gnome up on a wobble, so he does a little dance!

The last card is called a wiper card and I got this inspiration from Julie Davison.  When you pull open the card, the little owl pops up wishing you a happy valentines day!  My 6 year old granddaughter loved this, so I sent it to her and to my 5 year old grandson.

I had a lot of fun making these cards.

For my friends, I mad this card which was inspired by Lynn Dunn -

Simple but really beautiful.

That's it for today.

Blessings,  Sheryl

Valentines for my Grandchildren - Part I

 Hi all!

One of the greatest delights that I have as a grandmother is designing and sending cards and treats to my grandchildren on holidays.  Valentines Day is a particularly fun holiday.

This is what I created for Alice, my 6 year old granddaughter who is in kindergarden.  I made her some basic cards and she got to decorate them with self-adhesive sparkle hearts that I got from Michael's.

I made some treats for my other 10 year old granddaughter, Maelyn, who is in 5th grade.  Cute little lady bugs with a heart shaped Dove chocolate.

It's so much fun, not only designing these projects, but then helping them put it together.  Great family bonding time.

Tomorrow, I will show you the Valentines cards that I am sending to my kiddos.

Until then, have a blessed day!
Sheryl

February Stray Duckling Blog Waddle - The Spring Mini Catalog!

Hi All!

Welcome to the monthly Stampin' Stray Duckling Blog Waddle!  This months theme is featuring products in the January - April Mini Catalog.  Come on in and see what I have created for you!

It's going to be Valentines day soon so I thought what better, than to feature some valentines that I have been working on.  This card is made with the Love Cats stamp set and is a fun waterfall card.  I CASE'd this card from Linda Heller, Stampin'Up Demonstrator.  It's pretty easy to make and will delight anyone who receives it.

I used the Stamparatus  to get good solid images of the black cat.  The Designer Series paper is one of my favorites:  Country Gingham 6 x 6.  Here is a link to Linda's video where she explains how to put this together:  Click here.

Another fun card that I made using Share A Milk Shake stamp set.  I didn't order this right away, but then I really liked the cute little ice cream cone that you could die cut and fold to make it look 3-D.  I love the fonts used in the sentiments as well.  Here is the card:

This too is a fun fold card, using Dandy Designs 12x12 Designer Series Paper (free with a $100 purchase during Sale-A-Bration).  The sentiment is Inspired Thoughts (155536) in the annual catalog.  I CASE'd this from Lynn Dunn, Stampin'Up Demonstrator.  It's a great way to use up all that DSP that you have been collecting for years (I sure hope other people do this besides me!)

The next duckling that you will visit is: Kim Baker

Let's Sale-a-Brate! January Stampin' Stray Ducklings Blog Waddle

Welcome to another inspirational Stray Duckling Blog Waddle!

This month we are featuring product found in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  For every $50 or $100 that you spend, you can select free product from this little mini catalog.  (see the side panel)

Today, I chose to highlight two items from the Sale-A-Bration folder:   the cutest little owl ever - the stamp set called Adorable Owls,(free with a $50 order) and Dandy Designs 12x12 Designer Series Paper Pack. (free with a $100 order) And I threw in a fun fold and a wiper card to boot.  By the way, this card has been kid approved (by my 6 year old granddaughter)  Here is my card:

I got my inspiration from Julie Davison who did a YouTube video demonstration on how to make this card.  The big change that I made to it, was to have it folded on the left and swipe on the right.  Here is a link to her video which I highly recommend you watch:  https://youtu.be/oFlVoD3IH2g

I used Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the owls and the sentiment.  I cut the party owl out with layering circles and I fussy cut out the flying owl.  I colored him using light and dark crumb cake Stampin'Blends.  His feet and beak are light Mango Melody and his eyes are light Granny Apple green.  I outlined the party owl in light pool party to give him some dimension.  All the measurements are available in a free pdf here;

This card takes a little bit to make, but it will delight young and old.  Who can resist a flying owl?  (Maybe a mouse could, now that I think of it.)

December Stray Duckling Blog Waddle - Holiday Papercrafting!

Greetings Friends and welcome to the December 2022 Stampin' Stray Duckling Blog Waddle.  This month's theme is anything holiday.

Today not only am I going to show you a Holiday/Christmas card, but also a fund fold as well.  This card is called a pop up bendy card.  It's super easy to make and it is a card with a WOW!  When you open it up the image inside pops out.  It can be made either vertical or horizontal.  The first card I'm showing is the horizontal version:

This is the front of the card - a gatefold with a belly band:

This is the card Front and Belly Band

This is the inside with a pop out bendy that gives a 3-d dimension to the
                                        Christmas tree inside.

And here is the vertical version - I used the aspen tree die found in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  This is my absolute favorite die and stamp set called Perched in a Tree bundle.    Good news too.  It's being carried forward to the next mini catalog, but not as a bundle.  So if you want to save 10%, you need to order it now!

Click Here for the free pdf with the supplies and measurements.  The secret is the mechanism for the inside which consists of a bendy strip and a wobble, attached to the bendy strip.

These cards are super simple to make and fun to give and receive!

The next blog you will be waddling to is duckling Kim Baker
