Happy Birthday, #7

Good Morning!

Today is my grandson's 15th Birthday!  Where did the time go.  He was a toddler and I blinked and now he is taller than me and entering high school as a freshman.  He's also in the Morton High School Marching Band.  He has worked so hard in the month of July and I am so proud of him.

I love him to pieces, but one of his habits that drives me up the wall, is that his shoes are ALWAYS untied.  In the 2018 Sale-A-Bration Catalog, one of the stamps showed gym shoes, untied.  I just had to make a card for him using this set.  I also got out my water color paper and brusho - what a fun medium to work with!  Here is the card....

I used almost all retired product.  This was a fun card to make and I just hope I didn't put too much bling on it.  I did use a technique where I watered down the liquid tombow glue and spattered it on the card front.  Then I sprinkled gold glitter on the card.  I thought it gave it some nice sparkle.  Plus I love blue and gold together.

August 2018 Waddle

Another Blog Waddle - come on in!

This months challenge was to create something black and white with a splash of color.  I kind of cheated....This is a card that I designed for our demonstrator's shoe box swap 3 years ago, but the stamp set and thinlits are still current.  I used the Swirly Bird stamp set and the coordinating thinlits.  Thick Whisper White, Basic Black, Gold Foil and Real red.  Easy, quick card to make.

Birthdays - Continued

Hi All!

Sorry, I kind of fell behind in sharing my families many, many birthdays in the months of July, August and September.  I already showed you Alice and Maelyn's cards.  Now I will show you my sons, my husbands and my grandson Sage's cards:

First, Matthew's card.  His birthday was on July 12th:

Next is my husband Gary.  His birthday was on the 18th of July:

 Poor guy - he's pre-diabetic and has to watch what he eats.  This sentiment was perfect for him!

Lastly is my grandson Sage.  Here is his card:

My son Jeff had a birthday on the 28th of July, but he is definitely not a card kind of guy - more of a meat and potato's kind.  So he didn't get a card.  Maybe next year.

I hope you enjoyed seeing all the birthday cards I've been making.  Have 2 in August and 2 in September still coming up and then I can relax for a while.

August 2018 Classroom is now in Session

Hi all!

I'm back from my month long vacation and ready to start stamping!  This month, I'm featuring some of my favorite stamp sets from the annual catalog.  I'm especially featuring our wonderful embossing folders and the Stamparatus!

Here are the cards that we will be making:

I got inspiration from all over the place for these cards.  The Thinking of You card created using the Rooted in Nature stamp set came from one of our own Stray Ducklings, Josie Wicklund!  Mine is slightly different in that we will be creating our own DSP background with stamps.  The very pretty Garden Impressions was inspired by Mary Fish.  I used her layout, but I changed up the colors just a bit.  The Serene Garden card was cased from Kim Schach.  She's a master at designing cards!  The last one, the Dandelion Wishes, I found on Pinterest - I changed it up a bit in that we are going to heat emboss with clear embossing powder both the sentiment and the dandelion using versamark and Tuxedo Black ink.

Friday, August 17th  10am - 2pm
Sunday, August 19th   1:30 - 4:30 pm
