A Fond Farewell - April Stampin' Stray Ducklings Blog Waddle

 

This months theme for the Stampin' Stray Ducklings is to showcase our favorite retiring stamp set. It was hard to decide.  You must realize that I LOVE my stamps...they are like my children...I remember each and every one of them!  So after much thought, I came up with my favorite 3 and these are not in any particular order:  Positive Thoughts, Blossoms in Bloom Bundle, and What's Cooking.

First, Positive Thoughts - this came out during the height of COVID and I thought it was just so appropriate - it's a great thinking of you stamp set and sympathy as well.  Here are some of my cards that I made:   

The next is Blossoms in Bloom bundle.  You could either stamp without the dies (there are 2 types of dies for the flowers..again they both have different looks) or use the dies for 2 completely different looks:  

The third one is What's Cooking.  I love the pencil shading on the images and the really cute bowl.  The dies are really nice too  - Here is the stamp set and dies.

Look at those dies!  Aren't they adorable?  These would make wonderful cards the the baker/chef in your life or to sell at a kitchen shop.  Here is my card that I made with this set:

Welcome Spring! The April Classes are now in session!

 Hi all!

Happy April Everyone!  The cold weather is almost gone…..maybe. 

Anyway, I’m excited to announce my classes for April and May…

April Classes: the theme is Sympathy, Thinking of You…

Unfortunately I have needed a lot of these types of cards in the last year, so here is an opportunity to add to your stash of cards.

Here are the cards:  we will be making 2 each of 3 designs (3 of the cards are sympathy), with the bonus card being the rainbow shaker!(because that one takes the most time!).  

Cost is $20.

Thursday April 21st - 10am - 2pm - my home

Sunday April  24th - 1:30 - 5:00 pm - My Home

Tuesday April 26th - 10am - 2pm My home

Friday April 29th - 10am - 2pm - Morton Christian Church

March 2022 Stampin' Stray Duckling Waddle - Celebrating Spring!

 Hi All!

This month, the Stampin'Stray Ducklings are celebrating spring in a big way!  

Spring is actually my favorite time of year...I love watching the earth turn green again - the longer days, the warmth in the air and new life surrounding me.  The card I want to show you, makes me happy.  Beautiful softs colors and some shine.  I was inspired by Rachel Tessman who actually designed this card.  I just changed it up a bit to make it my own by making it into an Easter card.  You can see Rachel's original video here.  

I used the beautiful Flowing Flowers Stamp set, Fresh Freesia Card Stock and the beautiful Glittered Organdy Ribbon:

It's quite easy to make - all you use is your ink, paper and stamps (and a few embellishments)

Here is the recipe:

• Stamp Set:  Flowing Flowers, Celebrating You, His Grace (retired)
• Ink:  Pear Pizzaz, Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, Tuxedo Black
• Card Stock:  Fresh Freesia - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
•                      Basic White - 3-3/4 x 5 (cut 2 - one for the front, one for the inside)
•                                             1-1/2 x 4 to stamp and punch the front sentiment oval
•                     Highland Heather - 1/12 x 4 to punch the scallop oval

Other Items Used:  Double Oval Punch, Glittered Organdy Ribbon, Brushed Brass Butterflies, Wink of Stella and of course, dimensionals

March Classes are now in session! Yeah!

Hi All!

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for some in person card making classes!  I’ve got the March class all designed - we are going to be making several Easter cards and using some of the beautiful Stampin’Up! designer series paper.  

Dates and Times (tentative) - the classes at my house are limited to 5 people - that’s about all that can fit comfortably around my dining room table!

Tuesday, March 15th - 10am - 2pm - my house

Friday, March 18th - 10am - 2pm - my house

Sunday, March 20th - 1:30 pm - 5pm - my house

Friday, March 25th - 10am - 2pm - Morton Christian Church

I’m doing things a bit different - you will be making 1 of each of these cards with the option of making 2 of the flower card for an additional $3.  Cost for the class is still $20.  If you want to make the extra card, cost is $23.  

Please let me know by Tuesday, March 8th if you will be attending…gotta give me time to cut!
