I'm Back!!!! YaMan!

Good morning Stampers!

Gary and I just got back from our Western Caribbean cruise and it was something!  There were both good and bad things about it, but the good far outweighed the bad.   The only wrinkle was two fold:  1)  the kid behind Gary in the flight between Atlanta and Peoria, kicked the back of Gary's chair non-stop until about 20 minutes before we landed.  He was slamming the window shutter open and close alot!  Then the little darlin' started puking the last 20 minutes.  Oh what fun!

2) There were several children, very young children on this flight.  Around 2 - 3 years old - 3 of them.  Two of them coughed non-stop throughout the flight and the neither Mom nor Dad taught them to cover their face when coughing.  Thus, I now have some kind of chest congestion this morning.  Not feeling too bad, but I have a bad cough and my throat is scratchy.  Yeah!  We each got something.

Anyway, back to the trip.  Chloe had a good time with her friends at Play All Day Doggie Daycare and hotel.  And yes, she did play all day, every day!

We had beautiful weather.  The ship was huge!  6,000 people on board with us.  Our cabin steward took good care of us - coffee and juice and a fruit plate every morning!  The thing I was most impressed by was how the captain (or Master) of the ship could park that thang so gently!  No banging against the pier - no cussing, no problems!  I hate to think what I would do trying to get the ship into port!  Watch out everyone!

We had a balcony facing the ocean.  The Caribbean is a beautiful blue and I do mean blue!  And clear!  One day we saw a school of dolphins swimming next to us and leaping.  I think they were saying hello!  Didn't get a picture of them because I was afraid to leave the balcony and miss them!

It was warm and very humid at the ports we stopped at:  Labadee Haiti,  Falmouth Jamaica, and Cozumel Mexico.  But it wasn't too bad.  We went on excursions at each port, which in hindsight, I don't think we will do again.  At least not at every port.

That's all I'm telling you for now.  More to come in future posts.  Just wanted to tantalize you with my adventures!

Last call to sign up for my April classes, which start next week!  Contact me by Friday if you haven't signed up, but wish to do so.  The trip was only 1 week, but it feels like I've been gone a lot longer than that!  Hope I remember how to make these cards and how to cut paper!

Have a blessed day!

An Experiment

Good Morning!

Ok.  As many of you may know, I love technology and figuring out how to do new and unique things with it.  this week I've been messing around with Photos on my iMac for another project.  Well, I thought why not make a video of my April Cards showing the details, Ken Burns transitions, music... the works.  Like I have nothing else better to do.  So here it is.  Kind of cool.  More fun to make then watch I think.  Enjoy!

Baby Alice is Coming!

Good Morning Stampers!

I've been invited to a baby shower in May!  It's my son's girlfriend who is having the baby, my 5th grandchild!  We already know she's a girl and her name is Alice.  Such a sweet name!  I had to make a baby card of course.  So here it is:

Front of Card

Inside sentiment

Dawn Griffith put this card idea out on her blog.  I just added my own touches.  I think that bunny is so cute!  I colored her ears and cheeks with Pink Pirouette Stampin' Marker.  Then I used 2 way glue and dazzling diamonds and bedazzeled her a bit.  I think this would be a really cute little girl birthday card as well.  Dawn had stamped hers as an Easter Card.  This card is so cute and easy, I'm pretty sure it's going to show up in a near future Card Class.

Below are listed the products I used to create this card.  Spoiler:  The sentiment on the inside of the card is a retired stamp.  The stitched rectangle is not a Stampin' Up Product (GASP!), but I sure wish it was!  The DSP I used on the front of the card is the retired Subtle DSP stack.  There is a new one, I just haven't gotten it yet.

So there you have it.  Let me know what you think!   If you can't figure out the comment section, then email me.  I love hearing from you!

Until next time,

Sheryl

April Card Class - Register Now!

Good Morning my fellow stampers!

Today I'm posting the samples of the cards that we will be making at my April 2016 Card Making Class.  If you would like to join us, please contact me.  There is no obligation to buy anything and all you bring with you is adhesive and scissors. You just pay for the cards,  I provide everything else - stamps, paper and ink.  The cost is only $15 for 6 cards, with envelopes, 2 cards each of 3 designs. Plus you get a .pdf print out of the instructions and photos on how to make the cards.   Great bargain!  If you just want to try out card making for the first time, or get hands on experience with Stampin'Up! products this is the class for you!

If you can't attend the class, I will make the set of cards for you plus the .pdf print out for $15.  If you wish to just have the cut kit, and the pdf instructions, the cost is $12.   However, I do encourage you to take the class.  It's a fun 4 hours of relaxation, conversation and creativity.  A little oasis in your busy week.  Meet some great ladies who love to create and to share!  Plus you will be making something useful, something that will brighten anyone's day.

Check out my April newsletter for dates and times of classes.  If you can't make any of those times, please let me know and I can arrange another day and time.  Better yet, invite a few of your friends to join you in this fun adventure!

Until tomorrow,

Sheryl

Happy April 1st - and a little Preview

Good morning stampers!

Can you believe it's April already?  Time is flying, but I'm so happy that nature is waking up again;  the grass is getting green, the trees are budding, daffodils and crocus are blooming, the days are getting longer and warmer (although quite windy!).

I just wanted to give you a peek at one of the cards that I made for my class, but rejected, sort of.  The class card is just a slightly different configuration.

Pretty isn't it?  I got the idea from Kay Kaltoff. I used the Birthday Blooms Stamp set and the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper (seriously, it's a WOW).   I thought it was very pretty, but then I got to messing around with it and it changed.  I'll show you that on Monday, when I reveal my April 2016 card class projects.

In the mean time, Sale-a-Bration is now officially over.  We will have to wait until next January for another.   But, what great things we have to look forward to.  The 2015/2016 retired list will be coming out shortly.  We will have to bid a fond farewell to the 2015/2016 In Colors (Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow and Lost Lagoon), but look forward to the 2016/2018 colors!  The new annual catalog is coming out on June 1st, and that is always exciting.  Plus, I am starting to plan my annual open house and new catalog kick off for June.  All good things coming up!

In the short term, I'm getting ready to go on my cruise with my husband.  Got new light clothes, passport renewed, a hat, spf 50 sunblock, insect spray, dog boreding scheduled and my camera.  Got a cortisone shot in my hip yesterday.  That was an interesting experience.  It seems to be working so that is good.  I can walk now without a limp.  So I'm all ready other than the packing.  Sure hope I enjoy being on a floating city with 4,000 other people.  I'll give you a blow by blow description when I get back.  No Wi-Fi or phone for a week!

Until Monday, keep stamping!

Sheryl
