Valentine #2 - Oh So Ombre meets Starburst

Hello All!

Today I'm going to show you how to make this beautiful card:  It's called a sunburst and one of my fellow Stray Ducklings, Laurie S. is the one who suggested this.  Here is the card:

Click Here for the free PDF which has all the measurements and supplies that I used.  This is a Valentines card, but this would work just as well for an anniversary or wedding, or shower card.

Here is another card.  There are two patterns in the Oh So Ombre packet - one with a design and one that is solid color.  Here is a card where I used the solid color - Bermuda Bay and some sparkly ribbon:

Rather stunning, don't you think?  You can only get the Oh So Ombre Paper free with a $50 order.  Here are the 5 simple items you can order to get your free packet of Oh So Ombre Paper.

The Happy Thoughts Stamp Set is a must have - beautiful font, hits just about every occasion and it has inside sentiments!

You better hurry though!  Sale-A-Bration ends on February 28th.  I've got the list of items listed below and you can order with one click.

Here is the video on how I made this card:

February 2021 Stray Duckling Blog Waddle - Love is in the Air!

 Hello all!

Welcome to your monthly inspiration from the Stray Ducklings!  This month we are all about romance and love - Hello Valentines Day!

I'm really excited to show you what I've been up to.  You may or may not know that I have been cleaning out my stamp room.  I'm getting some new furniture to organize everything.  Of course I have lots of old stuff and one of the things I ran across was a valentine card that I made at the start of my love of Stampin'Up.  Now when I became a demonstrator I didn't know ANYTHING!  So I watched lots of videos and took classes.  I made this card from one of the video's I watched.  I don't remember whose this is;  it was either Dawn Griffith or Angie Juda - those were the only 2 who really had video's back in the day, before YouTube took off.  So here is the original card:

It's called a Diamond Pop-Up Card....and I can't stop making them!  Here are the two Valentines that I made:

I'm going to make a video on how to make these little darling cards, so stay tuned! For now I have a free PDF for you to download.  It's a differently decorated card, but it shows you how to cut and score this card.  Here is the card with the instructions:  Click on the image to access the PDF.

Another Valentine that I made was inspired by my Stray Duckling group - Mystery Card Monday.  This is called an arrow card and I used the True Love Designer series paper and the Heart Punch Pack as well as the Ornate Floral 3-D embossing folder.  Here is that card:

Pretty cool, huh?

I hope you enjoyed my cards.

The next stop on your blog hop is:  Nancy Legate

Valentine Week - Blast from the Past - Part I

 Hi all!

I've been busy playing with all the new product in the January - June 2021 Mini Catalog.  So much fun stuff.  I will be showing you what I've been working on.  I've also been cleaning out the ol' stamp room and I ran across some Valentines that I made years ago, when I was just first learning to make cards.  All of these have been CASE'd mainly because I didn't know what I was doing!  They look pretty good, but as I have always said, I'm positive one of my spiritual gifts is forgery.  I can copy just about anything.

So on to the blast from the past:

These look like the new trend skinny cards, but these are way smaller.  These were something that Stampin'Up was selling many, many years ago.  These measured 3 x 6, and came with matching envelopes.  There was a triple heart punch and the border was a punch as well.  I'm pretty sure I still have these punches somewhere.

This card, I believe was designed by Dawn Griffith.  She was my hero back in the day.  This is a cute little 4-/14 x 4-1/4 easel card.  The border was a punch that proved to be a tad difficult to get just right.   I thought I was really something making this easel card!

These two lovely cards were designed by Mary Fish.  She had an online class that you could purchase and make these cards.  I have always loved Mary's style and clever designs.  There were more cards but I haven't found them (yet).  I have no idea where the written instructions are either.  So much for organization!

This last card is from my good friend Bonnie P.  She sent this to me last year.  Bonnie is a true card maker.  She sends out about 75 cards to friends and family for every holiday - Valentines, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  And sometimes in between holidays.  She is so generous with her time and talent - we all benefit and appreciate it so much!  She's quite talented as well!  Thank you Bonnie!

That's all for today.  Check back tomorrow for some more valentine ideas.

Blessings,

Sheryl
