Technique/Card Folds Blog Waddle

Good Morning Fellow Stampers!

Welcome to another Blog Waddle!  This month our Stray Duckling Waddle highlights techniques and card folds!  So let's get started!  Quack, Quack!

Loving Vincent

Have you seen this movie yet?  It's an animated cartoon based on the paintings of Vincent Van Gough.  The artists (100 of them) painted the story board and all in the style of Vincent.  It's like his paintings come to life!  On March 17th, the Stray Ducklings had a Technique/Fancy Fold demonstration and swap.  I was also scheduled to see "Loving Vincent" at the Peoria Riverfront Museum for it's limited 3 day run.  When I saw this card, it reminded me so much of the style of Van Gough that I just had to do it.

My inspiration for this card was Kim Jolley, a Stampin'Up demonstrator in Springfield Missouri.  She is known for her artistic flair in cards.  And this technique is what she created.  She calls it "Not Your Mother's Shaving Cream Technique".   Much easier and neater than the traditional shaving cream technique.

In this card you get 3 for one;  embossing using versamark pad and our classic ink pads, ink resist and the shaving cream technique.  Kim has a wonderful video explaining how this card was made.

I also have a free pdf for you to print out.  It contains step by step instructions and all the measurements.  Click here to download.

Hope you enjoyed the technique and my card!

Blessings!

Sheryl
