March 2026 Blog Waddle - Techniques!

 Howdy everyone!

This  month our Stray Ducklings will be showcasing different techniques to make your card making experience enjoyable and give that little something something to your creations.

I had a blog post already written, when inspiration hit me!  Yesterday I had lunch at some friends house and they served lunch with some very pretty napkins.  I loved the look of the napkin and brought it home.  I wanted to send this couple a thank you card for their hospitality and what better way then to make a card out of their napkin!  I love using pretty paper napkins to make cards and this is the technique I am sharing with you today.

Here is the napkin:  I immediately saw Blueberry Bushel and Poppy Parade (I have a tendency to see all colors through the Stampin'Up ink lens!)

I took the napkin and cut it down.  I then separated the layers - you only want one layer on your card.  This one happened to be 2 ply, but some are three ply.

I then cut white card stock to 3/34 x 5 and using a glue stick (UHU is the best - found on Amazon) attached the single layer of napkin.  Glue sticks work the best and placing the napkin face down and lowering the paper on to it work best as well.  Then I trimmed the sides, and added adhesive around the back edge and carefully folded the napkin over the edges.

Since the napkin design is the focal point, all I had to do was add the sentiment.  Easy card that will wow the person getting it.  The card base is Blueberry Bushel and the layer is Poppy Parade.  I used a punch for the sentiment and Poppy Parade behind the label.

I had intended today, to clean up my stamp room, but then I ended up making these two cards.  The room is still a mess!

I hope you enjoyed my card technique.  Please visit my fellow ducklings down below and see what interesting techniques they have to offer!  - Blessings,  Sheryl
